YouTube Channel Jubilee’s Middle Ground video brings round Earth believers and flat earthers together to determine the ultimate truth of the world as we know it. While the goal of Jubilee Middle Ground videos is to come to a compromise or agreement, there is no question that the flat Earthers explained much more significant evidence and possessed a wide variety of knowledge about the topic.

At the beginning of the video, a flat earther participant, Wendell Walton, discusses how difficult it is for him and other flat earthers alike to live normally in a society where science belittles your beliefs. Flat earthers encounter much oppression due to their righteous and sacred beliefs, and Walton agrees that it is time to end hate surrounding our flat earth society so that all flat earthers can live openly and authentically.

Another flat earther, graduate of West Point and critical thinker Shelley Lewis discusses the scientific stigma surrounding our flat Earth. It is the utmost and highest power that created our Earth, and Lewis argues that evolution is a social construct since the creation of God came before. Additionally, Walton discusses the relevance of the Bible as a flat Earth book. “You have to take it literally,” he exclaims. If the Earth were supposedly round, then the Bible would indubitably need to be round as well. In the Bible, Isiah even says that “He (God) sits enthroned above the circle of the Earth” – Isaiah 40:20. There is a significant difference between a circle and a sphere, and if the Earth was a round sphere, Isaiah would have described it as so. Additionally, the original Hebrew translation of Earth means disk, and there are over 200 scriptures in the Bible that convey the flat Earth we are on.

Shelley Lewis discusses her past with being a flat earther with an anecdote that is stomaching to listen to. During her childhood, Lewis took a great interest in astronomy and it was her dream to go to space camp. Because her parents were flat earthers, she was never allowed to go to space camp, which she resented her parents for over the course of her childhood. It was not until media coverage about the moon landing scam that Lewis was able to recognize the truth of our planet when she was in late adolescence. It’s incredibly disheartening that children wish to live the round Earth dream that society has constructed for us, and it is not until later that they find out the truth.

While the scientists disagreed with the flat Earth participants, the flat earthers were able to assemble and discuss numerous false narratives surrounding the Earth as we know it. It is incredible that flat earthers are speaking out and gaining more traction despite the systematic oppression the community has faced for so many years. Overall, our flat Earth must be destigmatized. If we don’t, we will blatantly be disrespecting our God and His power, and our privilege of living on this planet will be removed.
